Great news on my birthday!

Yesterday on Monday I received a wonderful birthday gift....that our dossier had been submitted that very day in country and that it was accepted!! God is good! It is such a relief -- after having worked on that paperwork since October, having had to redo some things and then (after it was sent over) express additional documents overseas. Now we await for them to give us an appointment date, which is when we need to be over there and when we receive the actual referral for the child we seek to adopt. I've been told that it can take from 5 days to 3 weeks to hear of the appointment date...we're praying to hear quickly. One family only had 8 days notice before they had to be on a plane, another had 2 weeks, but it can often be longer. We are hoping to travel soon, around mid April, but we will see what the Lord has in store for us. While we wait, we are trying our best to prepare. We are excited that it is almost here!

Monday is the day!

Our additional required paperwork made it overseas and our facilitator will be submitting our dossier (all our paperwork required for adopting) on Monday, March 23rd....which is my birthday!! Please join us in praying that everything is acceptable and that we will be given an appointment date soon. We are getting excited here for it to almost be here. We know that God's timing is perfect which helps us, even though it is hard to wait.

Some encouragement from abroad

Friends from Reeces Rainbow are overseas adopting from the same orphanage that Sean is in...2 families actually! It has been such a blessing for us to follow their journey, to see what we will be going through (the good and the bad) when we travel. How wonderful it is to see pictures of them holding and playing with their children-- it give us encouragement and movtivation to carry on, despite how long and frustrating the process can be. Yesterday, my friend Meghan told me that she saw got to see Sean...that he looked up at her and came right over to her and she gave him a hug! She was so excited to see him in person and said he is so sweet.... it was such an encouragement to hear this and to know he is well. We can't wait to be there ourselves :)

Federal Express...again

We've been waiting to hear that our dossier is translated and if it is submitted....we finally heard last Friday that they are requiring that we send over an updated copy of our social worker's license and we have to send updated notarized copies of the doctor's medical licenses. This means our social worker fex-ex'ing her license to us ($40), us getting the doctors licenses copied and notarized, and us fed-exing everything to the secretary of state ($40 plus $10 apostille fee), along with a fed-ex envelope for them to fed-ex the apostilled forms to our facilitator overseas (for just over $100) which they say takes 4 business days! We are scheduled to submit our dossier on Monday the 16th...that will be cutting it close. Please pray that our documents will travel quickly, without any problems (have to go through customs) and that perhaps, they will let us submit knowing they are on the way!
