We have been continuing to put back together our home, after a massive bedroom rearrangement project! It always ends up much more work than I think it is going to be when we rearrange...which is why my dear husband always smiles and sighs when I initiate the process. :) We're trying to locate the screws and things to get Lacie's crib up in one of the girls rooms-- our son did a great job taking the crib down before but doesn't know where some crucial pieces are now! We almost have the upstairs finished and are now tackling the downstairs.
We found out we can send photos of the house to our social worker, since the weather has been very bad for traveling here, so we're hoping to get everything situated soon.
Meanwhile, we have sent a notarized, apostilled letter to the country for our facilitator to present at the SDA requesting to know of the availabiity status of Lacie and another little boy we learned of when we adopted SEan. It has now been over 2 weeks...or is it 3? when we mailed it. It is supposed to take 7 business days so we're not sure why it hasn't arrived. Apparently they have been on holiday there, so hopefully that is why the delay. Officially, they can take up to 10 business days to respond but we are hoping to hear something very soon, so we know how to proceed.
We were adviced to send this letter because sometimes although the director of the orphanage has sent off the child's paperwork and they should be available for adoption, there is a breakdown somewhere in the paperwork process and when the family arrives they find out that the child's paperwork it not in order and they are not available after all. This is the only way to be almost for sure--though it is never a 100% thing. So we wait....and pray.
As we wait, the kids have been busy in their free time making bracelets they plan to sell--locally and on our blog in the near future. Its a blessing to see them laboring in love and enjoying doing it together!
We have been blessed and encouraged by continued provisions. We plan to participate in a big yardsale, and have received donations of things to sell from a few families. While not the tremendous quick raising of money our daughters prayed for, we continue to receive a trickle of donations through paypal and in the mail...sometimes from people we do not even know! What an encouragement and reminder of God's faithfulness. Thank you to all who have supported us.
