This is Haylee.
I am writing an update on my brother Joshua...
:)
Joshua came home from the hospital on May 13th, 2014. He was welcomed home by all our family.
The PICU was sad to see him leave, but happy for us!
Joshua has had to have one other hospitalization since he came home. He went back in on May 30th, and came back home on June 6th.
He had high heart rate, a higher fever, and kept vomiting up his foods (and because of that was dehydrated). The ER doctor thought he had pneumonia, but the PICU doctor decided he did not from looking at the xrays. (his lungs have a little bit of damage still so the doctor thought he had pneumonia)
He is back home, and he has only gone back to the PICU for a visit :)
Joshua is doing great!! He has tolerated a couple trials a day so far without oxygen :) (1 1/2 to 2 hours at a time)
Please pray for us to get better nursing coverage..we have been taking shifts at nights. (we only have one night nurse). It is tiring, but God helps us have strength!
Joshua has been a big traveler since he came home..he has gone to the zoo, to a botanical garden 2 times, to parks, had a cookout with our nana and granddaddy, appointments, etc.
Have I ever told you what a blessing Joshua is to us? He is such a precious boy. We are thankful to God for him and for sparing his life.
I think Joshua must be the happiest person in the world. When he is in his bed, he sometimes will just start laughing or smiling as if he has some happy secret :) He loves kisses on his cheeks and starts laughing. He is so full of life and joy..it should be a lesson to all of us!
Thank you for all your prayers on this journey!
love,
Haylee
