Update: Blessing in disguise

I wanted to share what God did through our sweet daughters tragedy of losing all of their handmade items for their fundraiser for the ROgers. IF you didn't hear, scroll down and read the details. Basically they'd nall of their items they'd worked on for months (crochet things and handbeaded jewelry) to a yardsale and it accidentally got taken to Good will--and we couldn't get it back, despite calls and visits--it was no where. Our RR friend, a fellow adoptive mommy who is an amazing advocate for special needs orphans, heard what happened and shared about what happened on her blog, urging people to give to the ROgers on their behalf and post to encourage Haylee and Naomi. You can read that wonderful post here. . Well, the girls had huge smiles first when they saw their story on one of their favorite blogs but they got even bigger smiles when they started seeing precious comments that people were making to encourage them in their ministry to raise money for special needs orphans to come home. And do you know what else God did? He poured in the donations. People made donations toward the Roger's adoption fund...and soon after that post, there was more than needed for the ROger's matching fund. We don't know if all came from that post about their story, but we saw the numbers climb from under $6000 to over $9100 in a couple of days. We were so amazed and humbled to see what GOd had done-- in taking what we thought was a tragedy and turning it into a blessing, for this family received much more than the girls would've made if they'd sold every item they made. Just wanted to share that, as it reminded us that God can take our efforts--which may seem small, insignificant, or at times futile, and bless and multiply it to accomplish His purposes in His ways. Hallelujah! AS far as we know, this family is on their way to adopt their 2 children with DS, stuck in an institution, so please keep them in your prayers!
