Day 1: Meeting the children part 2 (Ludmila)

"LUDMILA" (known as "Lacie" on Reeces Rainbow

After talking to the doctors about Taras (see last post), they brought in Ludmila. Ludmila is called “Lusa” ( I don’t know how to write how they say it but close enough…last year they called her Luda) She was quite a sight….shaved head, rash all over her face and body, tank top and boy shorts! She came in walking a little unsteadily but on her own and she’d stop and sit down , then get herself up again. She was a little bit stand-off-ish but then would interact and she was active…trying to get things on the doctor’s desks and throwing down things she didn’t want (reminded us a lot of Sean) She liked to make a spitting sound—which we hope to redirect before she teaches Sean and they have a spitting game going  She would throw a ball back and forth us and she would repeat words—like ball and no etc. (more so than when we met Sean--we think she will pick up alot fast) and she did smile a few times when we played. Jonah seemed to take to her right away. Lusa also had a single mom who left her at the hospital to go to the
orphanage and hasn't had any visitors.

If anyone knows how you can upload and put videos on, please let me know!
