A test of our determination?

Today we met Lacie and Taras (again). They have grown since we last saw them, and both have shaved heads! On Taras it looked fine, but Lacie:( She looks like she has some all over skin rash, and Taras has been getting bug bit and has a pressure/bed sore on his mid spine (likely due to too much lying around on his back. They are both precious and it was great to see them.

After meeting Taras (who was more physically and mentally affected than we remembered), we had a bit of a crisis moment. Are we doing the right thing? He will need constant care, with complete assist with feeding (we were told he was feeding himself) and everything else. He can partly roll, but otherwise is completely dependent at this time with all mobility. It is unclear just how much he really interacts, since his visual field is severely limited and he has a deficit in his corpus collosum, which helps provide information from one side of the brain to the other.

I think there is some sense of whether we should take him home too. I spoke with Haylee earlier, and she reminded me that if we don't get him, he will die. Irina, our facilitator, explained to us the horrors of the next step institution that he will go too- likely left on a rubber mat all day, naked, with no toys or interaction except from very over-worked caregivers just trying to keep him clean and fed.

We have until tomorrow morning to let them know if we are going to take Taras home. We are likely his only chance at a family. We are leaning towards bringing him home, as we feel God blessed us with the funds for him too, but will any who read this tonight please pray for us? (and Taras)
